UB has completed a draft of the self-study required for reaccreditation by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, and members of the UB community are invited to review the document and provide feedback. 

Comments are due by Oct. 16.

Accreditation by Middle States affirms UB’s high standards and is required by the U.S. government to administer federal financial aid to students.

The self-study, prepared by five teams of more than 100 individuals from around the university, provides evidence that UB meets the characteristics of excellence and criteria as articulated in Middle States’ seven standards for accreditation.

The chair of the peer evaluation team from Middle States is scheduled to come to UB for a preliminary visit Oct. 2 and 3, with the visit by the full evaluation team slated for March 2024.

UB expects to receive reaccreditation at the June 2024 Middle States commission meeting.
