Michele Gliss Poitras has been elected vice chair of the Professional Staff Senate in a special election.

Poitras, manager of wellness and work life balance programs in Human Resources, is serving in the position in the wake of the resignation earlier this year of vice chair Virginia Stever.

Poitras will serve the remainder of Stever's term, which runs through June 30, 2025.

The primary duty of the PSS vice chair is to fill in for the PSS chair in their absence. The vice chair also coordinates PSS committee activities, serves as an ex officio member of all PSS committees and reports on committee activities to the PSS.
