Faculty and staff are invited to attend the AI at UB Forum on Nov. 21 to stay informed on the latest developments in artificial intelligence at the university.
The forum, to take place at 2 p.m. in the Center for the Arts Screening Room, will feature opening remarks from campus leaders highlighting ongoing AI initiatives and future goals.
Keynote speaker Rachael Hageman Blair, associate director of education at UB's Institute for Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, will discuss “Learning Together: Uniting Faculty and Students through AI in the Classroom.” Blair's talk will address varying perspectives on generative AI and its implications for collaboration and learning outcomes.
Following the keynote, a panel of five UB faculty fellows who received AI seed grant funding will share innovative strategies for integrating generative AI into their courses.
A reception with light refreshments will follow the panel at 3 p.m. in the CFA atrium. During this time, attendees can network with past AI seed fund awardees and explore their projects. Staff from the Office of Curriculum, Assessment and Teaching Transformation will also offer hands-on demonstrations of popular AI tools, including ChatGPT, MidJourney, Grammarly and Copilot, providing guidance on how these tools can be used to enhance teaching.
Those attending the event are asked to register online.
