President Satish Tripathi will discuss “The Value of Higher Education: A Personal and Public Good” in the next installment of the Bridge Lecture Series on June 24.

Tripathi’s talk is part of the annual summer lecture series sponsored by the UB Newman Center.

“This series is an opportunity for those of us who serve in ministry to the university at the Newman Center to meet and learn from the faculty and administration of the university,” says Debbie Brown, pastoral associate at the Newman Center.

Brown says the topics of the lectures differ, which is consistent with the approach of Newman Director Msgr. J. Patrick Keleher, who wants to encourage “learning, growing and expanding our mission.”

“One of the things we say is if you see a topic you don’t know anything about, that’s the one you should go to,” says Brown. “Don’t go to the talk you know everything about. Go to the one where you can learn.”

All talks are held at 7 p.m. on Wednesdays at the Newman Center, 495 Skinnersville Road across from the Creekside Village apartments on the North Campus.  The remainder of the schedule:
