Big changes are coming to the UB Reporter.
After 45 years as a weekly newspaper serving UB’s faculty and staff, we will begin publication as a daily with the start of the spring semester on Jan. 25.
We will be updating our website every day with new content, including stories, photos and videos. UB employees now will receive an email every Monday, Wednesday and Friday offering a brief selection of news stories, features and other important information faculty and staff need to know to do their jobs and to enhance their experience of working at the university.
And with the UB Reporter going daily, This Week @ UB — the Monday morning email that offers a quick look at the week ahead — will make its last appearance on Jan. 18.
You’ll also notice changes to the UB Reporter website, which has been redesigned to make it more user-friendly and to showcase the stories UB community members have told us they are most interested in reading.
We’ll feature more stories about the people, initiatives and events that make UB a great institution. And we’d like to include more stories about what’s happening within UB’s schools, departments and research labs.
A new section called “Your Colleagues” will focus on the accomplishments of faculty and staff. We all know UB employees are at the top of their game professionally. But many also have other talents and interests. We’ll tell you what they’re up to outside the office.
Another new section, “UB Seen,” will highlight the work of University Communications photographer Douglas Levere, freelance photographer and UB alum Nancy J. Parisi, and other photographers around the university.
As always, we need your help to keep the UB Reporter the go-to source for news for the UB community. Please send story ideas, news about UB colleagues and event information (at least two weeks before the event) to wuetcher@buffalo.edu or ub-reporter@buffalo.edu.
We hope you’ll like our new format.
Have a good read and a good semester.
