UB Wellfest is joining forces with Bring Your Kids to Work Day to bring UB employees a wellness-focused, family-friendly day on April 27.
Free and open to all UB faculty and staff, UB Wellfest activities will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Center for the Arts, North Campus. The 18th annual health and wellness fair is sponsored by Wellness and Work/Life Balance, UB Human Resources and Harmony Expositions, a worksite health-and-wellness company.
It will cover all aspects of wellness — emotional, physical, mental and social — and feature vendors from the UB community as well as elsewhere in Western New York.
Among the activities and services available will be health screenings by UBMD, health demonstrations, chair massages, healthy food samples, family activities and prizes and giveaways.
No registration is required to attend UB Wellfest.
In addition to the family-friendly activities at Wellfest, special events will take place at other locations on the North Campus to celebrate Bring Your Kids to Work Day. Among them are a bike ride from the Center for the Arts to the Solar Strand and back to the CFA, an educational activity at the Solar Strand, a presentation on internet safety and a tour of Alumni Arena.
Most activities are appropriate for children ages 10-15. The activities are free, but participants are asked to register.
Campus Dining & Shops is supporting Bring Your Kids to Work Day by offering a kid-friendly menu at several of its outlets on the North and South campuses for children under the age of 12.
UB faculty and staff also can purchase a commemorative UB Card for their child at the UB Card Office. The cost is $2 and the card comes pre-loaded with $5 toward food and beverages at any CDS dining location. The card, which is valid only on April 27, may be purchased beginning April 17.
