MOBILE, ALABAMA -- The birthplace of Mardi Gras in the U.S. sure knows how to throw a parade. The Dollar General Bowl's Mardi Gras parade wound around a roughly 5-mile route in downtown Mobile Friday evening and featured 20 floats, local high school marching bands and the marching bands from Dollar General Bowl participants UB and Troy. The parade route ended in Mardi Gras Park, where a battle of the marching bands, along with pep rallies for both teams, took place. Photographer Mark Wallheiser captured the action.
