Students and alumni met at the Eternal Flame trailhead to start their hike.
Serving as hosts for the hike from the Engineering and Applied Sciences Alumni Association were President Jordan Walbesser, JD ’10, BS ’07; Briana Tom, MBA ’17, BS ’17; Tim Van Oss, MS ’16, BS ’14; and Jim Wehrfritz, BS ’78.
The event was organized by the Professionalism and Sports committees of the alumni association, which under non-pandemic circumstances would have held many events this semester to connect alumni and students. The hike was the perfect informal and outdoor setting for students to talk to alumni about the challenges — and in some cases benefits — of remote learning.
The final destination. The flame attracts many hikers from around the area.
The hikers pose for photos to top off the day.
Seventeen students and four alumni enjoyed the hike, autumn scenery — and of course the company!
Last week a group of engineering students and alumni got together at Chestnut Ridge Park to hike to the Eternal Flame. The outing gave everyone a chance to recharge, enjoy nature and connect with each other. Photos: Jordan Walbesser
