Celebrating their acomplishments, ALANA students crossed the stage.

The celebration opened with the Black national anthem, "Lift every voice and sing."

The program included student speakers. First was Avana Francis, an Air Force reservist who graduates with a biomedical engineering degree.

Josephina Nimarko was the second student speaker. She served as president of the Black Student Union.

There were cultural performances by the Latin American Student Association …

… and the Filipino American Student Association.

The keynote address was given by alumnus Jamil Crews, '05. He spoke of his time at UB, the challenges and successes, and what he's gone on to accomplish in his career.

And then it was time for the main event!

It was an emotion-filled ceremony.

Friends cheered for each other.

Graduates had a chance to bask in their success.

Sydné Jackson, a recipient of the SUNY Chancellor's Award for Student Excellence, shared her celebration with loved ones.

And others just let their joy shine.
