The seventh Teaching Black History Conference, presented by UB’s Center for K–12 Black History and Racial Literacy Education, took place July 26-28. This year's theme was "Black to the Future: Afrofuturism as Black History." A cultural aesthetic that combines science fiction, history and fantasy, Afrofuturism explores the African American experience and forgotten African ancestry while imagining a world absent of white supremacist thought and infrastructure.
