My favorite hot dog in the area is Hog-Dawg in the Town of Niagara (4900 Saunders Settlement Road, Niagara Falls). They serve foot-long hot dogs with a frosty cold mug of root beer. This establishment has been there since the ’60s and hasn’t changed much in 40 years—so I’m told.

Louie’s on Elmwood (470 Elmwood Ave., Buffalo) for veggie dogs or Old Man River (375 Niagara St., Tonawanda) for bunny dogs.

This would have to be Red Top Hot Dogs (Lakeshore and Big Tree roads) right on the lake in Hamburg. It’s a one-of-a kind dog stand. It has a postcard view of Buffalo from the parking lot. The view has changed over the years—from steel plant to wind turbines. Awesome sunsets.
