One of my favorite speakers was Al Gore. It wasn’t as much for his remarks and presentation, which were thought provoking, but rather for the tremendous response from the community. Students, faculty, staff and community members all attended. It highlighted a role that the university serves so well—providing a forum for timely social issues.

I thoroughly enjoyed Jon Stewart. He is intelligent, quick, self-effacing, thought provoking and FUNNY!

My favorite was Stephen Colbert—intelligent wit, funny as hell and he gets his message across.

The DSS has featured so many great speakers that I can’t name just one, so here’s my two: Al Gore because I admire him and all of his work on global climate change awareness, and Conan O’Brien because I never laughed so hard. The lineup is amazing every year.
