My favorite, although I don’t get there as often as I’d like, is the Original Pancake House on Main Street in Williamsville. I get the baked apple pancake. It takes a little longer to prepare, but it’s worth the wait. I usually see someone I know there, too, which is always nice.

Athena’s Family Restaurant on Young Street in Tonawanda is my Sunday morning ritual with family and friends. I have simple tastes in breakfast—eggs, toast, the regular breakfast platter—and it’s all good. Athena’s is a small place, so it can be hard to get into on Sunday morning, but they’re expanding.

Pano’s on Elmwood. I love the food and the ambiance. Their prices are reasonable, too. You really feel like you are experiencing the Buffalo community when you are at Pano’s. Their customers reflect every walk of life.

Nick's Place on Amherst Street in Black Rock is a great family owned spot for a hearty breakfast. Also, you can't beat the early bird special at Amy's Place across from the South Campus on Main Street.
