  • This summer flew by. I’ve been busy sailing the coast of Maine in my 45-ft. yawl, scuba diving in Western New York, and started playing banjo again (Southern Appalachian clawhammer style) after a 40-year hiatus. The rest of the time, I play guitar, harmonica, and Irish tin whistle, walk my 150-pound Newfoundland (to intimidate my neighbors’ annoying little white dogs), and also try my best to keep my adult children from moving back into the house. And yes, I still teach at the dental school. Thanks for asking.

  • The weather was too beautiful to leave Buffalo. No big vacation, a weekend away at Taughannock Farms with my husband, lots of parties and picnics, grilling out on our deck and preparing for retirement!

  • Our family spent a lovely week at a cottage on the Lake Erie beach at Sugarloaf Farm, near Port Colborne, Ontario. Great weather, warm water and relaxing days—the right ingredients for a proper vacation. We’re fortunate to have great lakefront cottage country so nearby.
