  • My guess is Nov. 13.

  • I’ll embrace my internal-optimist (who tends to wear an ill-fitting Carnac the Magnificent hat on the weekends) and predict that Buffalo will not see measurable snowfall before Dec. 22.

  • I hate to think that snow is just around the corner, but it is. I shouldn’t complain—we had a terrific summer, didn’t we? I predict that the first measurable snowfall this season will be Nov. 20. That gives me almost two months to remember where I put all our winter coats and boots.

  • After the October 2006 storm, I always plan on taking down my patio awning by the first weekend in October, just in case we get an early snow. I hope I’m not going to have to use my snowblower until late in the fall or early December. My guess for when we will get our first measurable snowfall is Nov. 23, but I would prefer Dec. 12. Snow and Christmas go together and that’s when I want it to snow to get in the spirit. I appreciate the seasons, enjoy the snow, but I want the winter snow to end in early February.
