Fireplaces are the key to beating the winter blahs. The one in our living room is constantly burning, and when we go out for coffee or a meal, we look for the table by the fireplace. Don’t you think we should have some warm fireplaces here on campus?
Dennis Black
Vice President for University Life and Services -
I love to garden, but not to ski. So when there is no gardening to be done, I knit and paint. By spring, several friends have new afghans, scarves and hats, or maybe even a portrait of their favorite pet.
Pat Carey
Assistant Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs - Finding activities to keep myself entertained and out of the house is key in the winter. I enjoy spending time in Ellicottville, hitting the slopes and making the most of all the snow. For entertainment closer to home, it’s always fun to be in Alumni Arena to cheer on our student athletes as UB basketball competes for a MAC Championship!

I think the best cure for the winter blues includes lots of moisturizer, which combats the brutally dry air in buffalo as well as indoors from the heaters being on, and a good run around the jogging track of alumni arena.

I love to read...so give me a good book & a cup of coffee (when not working), & I'm content.
