Free basketball tickets
The Division of Athletics is holding Faculty & Staff Appreciation Days Feb. 8 and Feb. 16 with free tickets to UB basketball games and admission to special pre-game events.
Employees can receive two free tickets to the men’s game against Central Michigan on Feb. 8 and admission to a pre-game reception with head football Coach Jeff Quinn. The reception will be held from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the Stephen Walsh Basketball Office Complex on the second floor of Alumni Arena. Free hors d’oeuvres will be served and a cash bar will be provided. Admission to the reception is limited to the first 100 who register. Tipoff is at 7:30 p.m.
On Feb. 16, employees can receive two free tickets to the women’s game against Akron and admission to a pre-game “chalk talk” with head coach Linda Hill-MacDonald and Anucha Browne Sanders, senior associate athletic director and senior woman administrator, from 5:30-6 p.m. in Room 90 in Alumni Arena. A party with free wings for the first 200 fans will be held from 6-7 p.m. Tipoff is at 7 p.m.
The events are limited to one UB faculty and staff member with a valid UB ID and one guest.

EAP to present financial programs
UB’s Employee Assistance Program is sponsoring free programs next week designed to help faculty and staff learn about managing their money in both the short term and long term.
“Improve your Financial Fitness” will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Feb. 8 in B-15 Abbott Hall, South Campus. The session is designed to help employees learn how to balance the need to live responsibly today with the need to plan wisely for the future.
“Planning for your Future,” the four-part series addressing topics of interest as employees near retirement, will open its Winter 2011 edition with a session on “Estate Planning” from 1-3 p.m. Feb. 10 in 142 Crofts Hall, North Campus.
Those interested in attending should register in advance.
