Training set on workplace violence policies
To ensure that UB faculty and staff are fully aware of the university’s Workplace Violence Prevention Policy and its Domestic Violence and the Workplace Policy, all employees are being required to complete an online training session by May 1.
The training will provide employees with the knowledge and tools needed to recognize workplace violence and its associated behaviors, and to report incidents of workplace violence.
Supervisors should allow their employees time during their work day to complete the training session, which should take 20-30 minutes.
Anyone with questions about the Workplace Violence Prevention Policy, the Domestic Violence and the Workplace Policy, or the associated online training should contact the Office of Employee Relations at 645-7777.
EAP offers workshops
UB’s Employee Assistance Program is offering two workshops next week for personal and professional development.
Supervisors who are dealing with challenging workplace issues and are not sure where to turn can obtain some guidance and tools from a session titled “EAP Tools for Supervisors: Helping You Manage the Tough Issues,” to be held from 1-3 p.m. March 8 in 142 Crofts Hall, North Campus. Registration is required.
EAP also is offering “Increase Your Financial Fitness,” a workshop designed to help participants learn how manage their money, both short and long term. The session will be held from noon to 1 p.m. March 10 in 324 Crofts Hall, North Campus. Registration is required.
