The rising cost of fuel has affected me in a couple of different ways. Earlier this year, I went from a six-cylinder vehicle to a four-cylinder vehicle and on many occasions I have my husband drive to me to work and pick me up, which I really enjoy! Plus, I am trying to combine any errands I have during the weekend to be more efficient with fuel. All of this has made a huge difference in my car’s fuel consumption.

WBFO 88.7 - Not much. I drive a Honda Civic, which has a small gas tank, so I haven’t been running up huge charges at the pump. And I’m pretty sure the lower cost of natural gas this winter is more than offsetting the rise in price of gasoline.

Office of Development - I take public transportation to and from work most days so it hasn’t been too bad. And once the snow melts, biking and walking are my preferred modes of transportation. I’m just crossing my fingers for an early—or even on-time—spring.

Jerry Godwin says:
With gas prices continuing an upward trend and car companies developing all electric cars (Nissan Leaf, and Ford Focus Electric) is UB thinking about the installation of parking spots with electric plug in so that these vehicles can recharge whilst the driver is at work? The reason why this option would be necessary has to do with the range that an electric vehicle can go on one charge. Another factor possibly affecting the range of these vehicles might be cold temperature. Charging the vehicle during the day should allow for smooth roundtrips. I am sure that owners of such vehicles would be more than willing to pay for such an option.
