The Center for the Arts has been named “Best Large Music Venue” in Buffalo Spree magazine’s Best of WNY 2011 Awards. The sixth annual awards, presented at an event on June 23, appear in the July-August 2011 issue of Buffalo Spree. The Best of WNY Awards are chosen by panels of local experts and reader voters in a wide variety of categories.
The Amherst Chamber of Commerce recently presented its Small Business Advocate award to Janine Tramont, business development and special programs assistant in the Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership in the School of Management.
Morton Feldman, world-renowned composer and UB music faculty member who founded June nn Buffalo, will be inducted posthumously into the Buffalo Music Hall of Fame’s Class of 2011 at a gala event to be held in October. Feldman has been named a recipient of a Legacy Award, a new category that recognizes industry veterans for achievements over lengthy careers.
