Definitely Letchworth State Park. It’s a really nice day trip and the leaves and the gorge are just beautiful. Throw in some crisp apples and it’s a perfect fall afternoon! Take Route 20A East to Route 78 South to Route 19 South to Route 39 East toward Castile and Letchworth. Follow the signs!

Web Services - Take the 219 to Rice Road heading toward Colden and take a right on Route 240. Follow 240 along a beautiful little creek twisting and turning all the way to Ellicottville. You will pass a couple ski resorts along the way and the color is the most amazing I have ever seen. The road is not busy and even the driver can enjoy the scenery.

UB Information Technology - My favorite fall drive is the route from my house to Allegany State Park (Route 219 through Ellicottville to Salamanca to the park). Every year we’d travel there for a weekend around Columbus Day. My boys would get so excited the minute we’d enter the park and see the big stone Allegany marker. We’d slow down, open our car windows and breathe in. The color, the sound and the smell were incredible.

University Communications - Letchworth State Park has a deep gorge and many vistas. The park is about 60 miles ESE of Buffalo. Start in Castile and take the park road 18.3 miles north to Mount Morris. You’ll enjoy and remember this trip for a long time.
