  Time to change health insurance

  The Option Transfer Period for state employees, during which workers can change their health insurance carrier, voluntarily cancel coverage or delete dependents, runs through Dec. 30.

  The effective date of change will be Jan. 5, 2012.

  Forms must be completed and received in University Human Resources no later than Dec. 30, 2011.

  The deadline also is Dec. 30 for M/C employees and those represented by CSEA and PEF to enroll in the Opt-Out Program that allows eligible employees who have other employer-sponsored group health insurance to opt out of their state health insurance coverage in exchange for an annual incentive payment.

  The Opt-Out Program is not available to UUP, PBANYS (ALES) or NYSCOPBA employees.
