A look at some of the players expected to see action in '95

The UB Bulls team for 1995 includes 35 letterwinners from last season's squad, including 15 starters. Nine of the returning starters come from the defensive side of the ball. Below, some of the players expected to see action this season.

Everett Anthony, Junior, Defensive Back: Anthony, the Bulls' third leading tackler in 1994, finished the year with 56 total tackles, including 26 solo. After breaking an ankle in practice, his status for the 1995 season is uncertain.

Chris Behan, Senior, Tight End: Behan, Bulls co-captain, was rated by Sporting News as the nation's top Division I-AA independent tight end. He played and started in all 11 games in 1994, was second in receptions with 31 and third in yards per reception at 10.7.

Kyle Booker, Senior, Offensive Tackle: Projected mainstay on the Bulls' 1994 offensive line before suffering a broken arm in the game against Towson State, he played in all 11 games in 1993.

Vince Canosa, Senior, Defensive Tackle: Canosa, the Bulls' sixth leading tackler in 1994, finished with 46, of which 19 were solo. He led the team in tackles for loss and in sacks.

Gerald Carlson, Junior, Punter/Placekicker: Carlson saw action in all 11 games last year, averaging 38.6 yards per kick. He had 20 of 74 kicks down inside the 20.

Mike Chichester, Junior, Defensive Back: Chichester, who saw extensive action last year as a sophomore, finished with 32 tackles and was tied for team lead in fumble recoveries.

Pete Conley, Senior, Linebacker: Bulls co-captain had an outstanding junior season, leading the team in tackles with 108, 47 solo. He was second in sacks, and was named team MVP.

Mark DiNardo, Senior, Offensive Line: , mainstay on Bulls' O line after coming off '93 knee surgery, DiNardo is a student-athlete mentor. He started every game as a freshman and sophomore.

Edward Ellis, Junior, Offensive Line: Ellis was a solid lineman for the Bulls in 1994, battling his way through nagging injuries. In 1993, he played in seven games, starting five.

Terrence Fisher, Senior, Defensive Back: The team's fifth-leading tackler in '94 with 49, including 27 solo, Fisher led the team in pass break-ups and was the club's top punt returner.

Craig Guest, Junior, Linebacker: An exceptional performer as a sophomore, Guest was one of the team's top tacklers with 104, including a team-high 50 solo.

Robert Heggemann, Senior, Guard: Heggemann, who comes to UB from Greenville College, was named All-Conference and pre-season All American at Greenville.

Joe Jones, Sophomore, Defensive End: Jones transferred to UB from Greenville College, where he recorded eight sacks and 54 solo tackles last season.

Jason Kuehn, Senior, Defensive End: Kuehn, who comes to UB from Rutgers, was captain at Greece Athena, where he set a school record for most receptions and yards as wide receiver.

Eric Lee, Senior, Defensive Back: Lee comes to UB from Greenville College, where he was named his team's defensive back MVP.

Steve McDuffie, Senior, Linebacker: McDuffie saw considerable action at linebacker in '94, finishing with 28 tackles, five for loss. He had a season-high six tackles against Western Illinois.

Kevin McGriff, Junior, Quarterback: McGriff, who transferred to UB from Nassau Community College, threw a team record 13 TD passes at Nassau and was a two-year starter with a career record of 19-3.

Hardy Mitchell, Sophomore, Defensive End: Mitchell, listed as one of the top 50 recruits in South Carolina, finished the 1994 season with 21 tackles, of which five were for loss.

John Sandusky, Junior, Offensive Line: Sandusky, who saw considerable playing time as a sophomore in 1994, should battle for a starting spot as a junior.

Anthony Scott, Junior, Defensive Line: Scott led the Bulls in receiving in 1994, with 33 catches for a team-high 508 yards. He led all receivers in scoring with three touchdowns.

Rich Sitarek, Sophomore, Wide Receiver: Sitarek, who played in seven games in 1994, had three receptions for 48 yards. In '93, he led all WNY receivers with 669 yards.

Anthony Swan, Sophomore, Running Back: Swan led the club in rushing last year with 411 yards on 106 carries. He started in five games and played in nine. His 120 yards on 23 carries vs. Illinois State is last time Bulls rushed for 100-plus yards in a game.

Mark Taylor, Sophomore, Quarterback: Taylor played in five games last season as backup to Cliff Scott. He completed 6 of 16 passes for 82 yards.

Rich "Bubba" Walker, Senior, Defensive End: Walker, who finished his junior year with 20 tackles, has been a mainstay on the defensive line the past three seasons.

Keith Warren, Junior, Wide Receiver: Warren played in all 11 games last year as a sophomore. He was the team's fourth-leading receiver with 19 for 337 yards, and two TDs.
