UB Libraries Web: Campus Virtual Library

Bewildered by the "Information Superhighway"? Wondering where to begin for your research needs? Try your campus virtual library-the UB Libraries Web!

This new web offers integrated access to a wealth of information and extends library resources and library services to your home or office. From within its carefully crafted pages, you can browse the on-line catalog, search remote bibliographic databases, scan the tables of contents of current journal issues, request material on interlibrary loan, renew a book, ask a librarian a question, or pay a "visit" to one of the university's nine campus libraries.

Each campus library has designed its own set of pages; links to these are featured prominently on the University Libraries Home Page. Here you can find specific information about a particular library's collections, hours, services, and staff. The campus library pages also provide links to a stunning variety of Internet resources that subject librarians have selected, organized, and in some cases annotated for you. These include electronic journals, instructional materials, government information, maps, graphics, software, and information about discussion lists. Within these pages you can also find career information, job listings, directories, publisher catalogs, grant information, patents, and product data sheets.

Regardless of your subject area, the Libraries Web has resources to get you going on your research path, whether you will be using traditional library sources or electronic information.

To connect to the Libraries Web, type wings at your UB E-mail account system prompt. Select "Libraries" and you will be at our home page. For help with E-mail accounts or Wings, phone the CIT Help Desk at 645-3542.
