The UB Media Study Department has announced the establishment of
"Tuesdays at 7," a series of screenings and lectures on video and film
art. Two events are scheduled: On Tuesday, Oct. 10, award-winning UB Professor Tony Conrad, a pioneer in the development of American experimental video, film and music, will present a juried program of work by UB's advanced media-study students. Titled "Selected Video Work," the program will take place at 7 p.m. in the Center for the Arts Screening Room on the North Campus. The event is free of charge and open to the public. On Tuesday, Oct. 24, UB Media Study Professor Brian Henderson, a noted film scholar and historian widely published on the work of writer/director Preston Sturges, will screen Sturges' 1944 film, "The Miracle of Morgan Creek" with commentary and discuss his own recent book, "Four More Screenplays by Preston Sturges," published this fall by the University of California Press. The event takes place at 7 p.m. in the Center for the Arts Screening Room, North Campus. It is free of charge and open to the public.
