A Celebration of the Life of Livingston Gearhart

A celebration of the life of Livingston Gearhart, UB professor emeritus of music, will be held Oct. 6 at 3 p.m. in Slee Hall. Gearhart, who died July 14, was a composer and concert pianist who made many recordings over the course of his career. He retired from UB in 1985.

The program includes a welcome by Martha Gearhart; Bach Adagio in G-minor from Sonata No. 1, Fritz Gearhart, violin; remarks by Ben Phillips and Maria Runfola; Rachmaninoff Ave Maria, University Choir directed by Harriet Simons; A Tribute to the Man in the Clothes-Pin, Kim Gearhart; Bach Gott der Vater wohn uns Bie, Roland E. Martin, organ.

Contributions may be made to the Livingston Gearhart Fund, Department of Music, 222 Baird Hall, University at Buffalo, 14260.

A collection of Livingston Gearhart's work is currently on display in the Baird Hall Music Library.
