Political satirist P.J. O'Rourke here March 12 for Speakers Series

Best-selling author and political satirist P.J. O'Rourke will bring his comments and humor on contemporary politics to the University at Buffalo on Wednesday, March 12, as part of the Distinguished Speakers Series.

O'Rourke will speak on "The Politics of Worry" at 7:30 p.m. in the Mainstage theater in the Center for the Arts on the North Campus.

Called "the funniest writer in America" by Time magazine and The Wall Street Journal, O'Rourke is quoted in "The Penguin Dictionary of Humorous Quotations" more often than any other living person.

Foreign affairs editor for Rolling Stone magazine, he's written for publications ranging from Esquire to Car and Driver. He also has served as editor-in-chief of The National Lampoon and has been a Hollywood scriptwriter.

Among his best-sellers are "Republican Party Reptile," "Give War a Chance," "All the Trouble in the World," "Age and Guile," "Beat Youth" and "Innocence and a Bad Haircut."

O'Rourke's lecture is presented by UB and the Don Davis Auto World Lectureship Fund. Affiliate series sponsor is the Amherst Chamber of Commerce.
