Eligible individuals are employees of UB, UBF, RF, or FSA who have completed at least two years of continuous full-time professional staff service. Previous winners of the Outstanding Service Award are ineligible for five years after receiving the award. Award recipients during the last five years have been Joel Rose, Jay Friedman, Charles Brunskill, John Bis, James Gerland, Elsie Pacheco, and Nelson Townsend.
In addition to performing demonstrably noteworthy community service, nominees must exceed average expectations on the job. Clear, specific evidence of leadership, commitment, creativity, and initiative is important in building a persuasive and competitive dossier. The awards to be presented at a luncheon on May 21, carry with them a cash award and a certificate of recognition. Any member of the UB community may submit nominations. Appropriate forms and detailed instructions for submission are available from Christine Sauciunac, chair of the Professional Staff Senate Awards Committee, in care of the Professional Staff Senate Office (543 Capen Hall, 645-2003). All nominations must be submitted by 4:30 p.m. Monday, April 14, 1997.
