Art at the End of the Century: Dialogue II


Internationally acclaimed figures in the world of art are appearing as guest speakers for Art at the End of the Century: Dialogue II, in March and April at the Albright-Knox Art Gallery Auditorium. Lectures are at 8 p.m.

The University at Buffalo Art Gallery initiated the lecture series last year and was joined by the Albright-Knox Art Gallery. Joining them in presenting this year's series are the Burchfield-Penney Art Center at Buffalo State College and the Castellani Art Museum, Niagara University.

Speakers for this year's series are Allucquére Rosanne "Sandy" Stone, a performance artist, cybertheorist, educator and author who is director of the Advance Communication Technologies Laboratory at the University of Texas, March 13; James Luna, a Luiseño Indian multimedia installation and performance artist, March 27, and Nancy Dwyer, an artist and UB graduate who has exhibited worldwide for 20 years, April 3.

Concluding the series is a panel discussion on April 17 featuring, from UB: Al Harris F., director of the UB Art Gallery; from The Albright-Knox: Cheryl Brutvan, senior curator; from the Castellani Art Museum of Niagara University: Elizabeth Licata, a contemporary art critic who teaches at Niagara University; from the Burchfield-Penney Art Center: Nancy Weekly, Charles Cary Rumsey Curator and director of the curatorial department.
