Ryan recommended as SUNY chancellor
A 25-member search committee has unanimously recommended the appointment of John W. Ryan, who has served as SUNY interim chancellor for the past 10 months, as chancellor of the 64-campus state system.
The SUNY Board of Trustees is expected to name Ryan, a former president of Indiana University, to the post at its meeting on Monday, April 21.
When he was named to the interim position, Ryan said he had no interest in being a candidate for the permanent post. However, Ryan announced last week that he was now available for the permanent job.
