Graduate thesis presentations are on view May 1 through May 30 in the James Dyett Gallery, 334 Hayes Hall, South Campus. The exhibit is presented by the School of Architecture and Planning. Gallery hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday.

Inflatable sculpture in Lightwell
Takashi Murakami's "Mr. Dob" is a 40-foot-high inflatable sculpture commissioned for the Lightwell Gallery and on view there through July 13. The sculpture, with its cartoon-like design, is both playful and menacing. The Lightwell Gallery is located within the University at Buffalo Art Gallery in the Center for the Arts, North Campus. Gallery hours are Wednesday-Saturday 10:30 a.m.-8 p.m., and Sunday Noon-5 p.m. Admission is free.
New paintings by Sheldon Berlyn
"Sheldon Berlyn: New Work" continues through June 8 in the University at Buffalo Art Gallery, Center for the Arts, North Campus. A concurrent show of Berlyn's new work will be on view April 27 through June 1 at the Castellani Art Museum of Niagara University. UB Art Gallery hours are Wednesday-Saturday 10:30 a.m.-8 p.m., and Sunday Noon-5 p.m. Admission is free.
Exhibit of books and manuscripts
"Wislawa Szymborska: A Search for the Word," an exhibition of books, manuscripts, memorabilia, and photos relating to the Nobel Laureate poet, is on display through April 24 in the Poetry/Rare Books Room, 420 Capen Hall, North Campus. The exhibition originated at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow, and is presented here in conjunction with the Second Conference on Polish Studies in America. Poetry Room hours are Monday-Friday 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
Focused seniors
An exhibit of work by senior photography majors on view through April 29 at Campos Photography Center, 1016 Niagara Falls Blvd. The students are from Tyrone Georgiou's Advanced Photography course.
Retirement system seminar
A one-day New York State Employees' Retirement System Seminar will be held June 6 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Center for Tomorrow, North Campus. There will be one session for Tier 1 and 2 members, and another for Tier 3 and 4 members. There will be representatives from the Social Security Administration, the Dept. of Civil Service, and the company that administers the New York State Deferred Compensation Program.
