Inflatable sculpture in Lightwell
Takashi Murakami's "Mr. Dob" is a 40-foot-high inflatable sculpture commissioned for the Lightwell Gallery and on view there through July 13. The sculpture, with its cartoon-like design, is both playful and menacing. The Lightwell Gallery is located within the University at Buffalo Art Gallery in the Center for the Arts, North Campus. Gallery hours are 10:30 a.m.-8 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday and Noon-5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free.
New paintings by Sheldon Berlyn
"Sheldon Berlyn: New Work" continues through June 8 in the University at Buffalo Art Gallery, Center for the Arts, North Campus. A concurrent show of Berlyn's new work will be on view through June 1 at the Castellani Art Museum of Niagara University. UB Art Gallery hours are 10:30 a.m.-8 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday and Noon-5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free.
