Softball

UB 3-0, Ohio 2-2; UB 5, Ohio 4

UB finally got back on the field after an 11-day layoff due to the weather, and the Bulls earned a dramatic, 3-2, win in the bottom of the seventh inning in game one against the visiting Ohio Bobcats. The Bulls fell by a 2-0 score in game two of the MAC doubleheader on Saturday in the UB Softball Stadium.

In game one, Breanne Nasti led off the bottom of the seventh with a single down the left field line, and walks to Kelly Malone and Erica Pace loaded the bases for Jessica Kensy. Nasti and Ross both had two hits in the game for the Bulls, while Stacey Evans earned her seventh win of the year on the mound, going the distance while allowing five hits and striking out five.

UB got timely hitting and took advantage of two Ohio errors in the bottom of the sixth inning when the Bulls scored three runs to earn a come-from-behind 5-4 victory over the Bobcats to conclude the series on Sunday. Sophomore Ann Magur drove in the game-winning run with a single to left field to help the Bulls improve to 11-14 overall and 3-6 in the MAC.
