Wives at risk for HIV. A study at UB's Research Institute on Addictions has found that substance-abusing men who engage in behavior that puts them at high risk for direct exposure to HIV are likely to put their wives at high risk for indirect HIV exposure through unprotected sexual intercourse with their spouses.
"Living better" focus of Elder Enrichment Program. The School of Nursing is set to show-and-tell how to live better while living longer during its Elder Enrichment Program scheduled for June 15-19 on the North Campus.
Sixty years of art. An exhibition surveying the six-decade career of Buffalo artist Catherine Catanzaro Koenig will be on display May 30 through Oct. 12 in UB's Anderson Gallery.
High blood pressure linked to nitric oxide production. UB neonatologists, studying why preemies develop high blood pressure after receiving steroids to aid their lung function, have found that steroids interfere with production of nitric oxide, which is critical in relaxing blood vessels and reducing blood pressure.
