Up, Up and Away

A helicopter lifts a new cooling unit to the roof of the Governors Complex, between Clinton and Dewey halls. A crowd of 30 to 40 people gathered at 7 a.m. on July 1, many with cameras, to witness the event.

Crews on Friday guide the traditional "topping off" beam to the uppermost point of the skeleton of the Buffalo Life Sciences Complex, under construction at the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus near downtown Buffalo. Two American flags—one bearing the likeness of a Native American chief— flank a tree, which symbolizes good luck.
