Freshman class reflects significant improvements in quality, diversity
UB is set to enroll what may be the brightest freshman class in its history, and has made significant strides to improve the diversity of incoming freshmen. » Full Story
New shuttle route added. Parking and Transportation Services has added a new shuttle line and three more stops to an existing route in the UB Park and Ride Shuttle Service in an effort to ease the parking crunch during prime class hours for students, faculty, staff and visitors.
B.S in biomedical sciences offered. The School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences will offer a bachelor of science degree in biomedical sciences, beginning with the fall semester, for students who anticipate applying to professional or graduate programs in the health sciences.
Synthesizing quantum dots. A UB research team has invented a new way to synthesize quantum dots, luminescent nanocrystals made from semiconductor material.
Genes and Gulf War Syndrome. Veterans of the first Persian Gulf War suffering from medically unexplained fatigue associated with Gulf War Syndrome may have a genetic predisposition for developing the condition, UB geneticists have found.
