Team targets Sudden Cardiac Death. UB has assembled a cadre of specialists to investigate Sudden Cardiac Death, a phenomenon that kills more people each year than AIDS and breast and lung cancer combined.
UB to celebrate homecoming. Comedians Bobby Collins and Caroline Rhea, and the magician team The Pendragons will be among the highlights of Homecoming/Family Weekend, being held Oct. 15-18.
Presidential partners. In recognition of the unique role of the UB presidential partners in the life of the university, a special exhibition, "UB One: In Celebration of Carol Morrissey Greiner and University at Buffalo Presidential Partners, 1846-2003," is on display in the University Archives.
2004 election seen as close race. UB political scientist James Campbell predicts that circumstances leading up to the 2004 presidential election point to another tightly contested race, though probably not the nail-biter of 2000.
A rare view of the design process. Local architecture buffs will have the unique opportunity to see all five proposals in the competition to design the visitors center for the Darwin Martin House, thanks to the work of a UB architecture professor and his students.
Asian Studies Program to host conference. The conference, titled "Walls in Asia," will examine how, over the centuries, the wall has become a symbol of Asia for Asians and non-Asians alike.
UB made the difference. CNN newsman and UB alumnus Wolf Blitzer, on campus last week to speak as part of the Distinguished Speaker Series, said his time at UB was "critically important" to his development as a journalist and a person.
Chinese Maximalism to debut The UB Art Gallery will be the only U.S. venue for "Chinese Maximalism, a groundbreaking exhibition of more than 65 works by 15 contemporary Chinese artists that is the result of an unprecedented collaboration between the UB gallery and the Millennium Museum in Beijing.
