Tête-à-tête

Bruce Jackson, SUNY Distinguished Professor in the departments of American Studies and English, chats with French President Jacques Chirac during a reception held Feb. 15 in the Winter Garden of Elysee Palace in Paris. Jackson attended the party held to celebrate the 50th anniversary of "Terre Humaine," the famous book series that includes contributions by Jackson; Diane Christian, SUNY Distinguished Teaching Professor in the Department of English; and Barbara Tedlock, professor and chair of the Department of Anthropology. Jackson will return to Paris next week, accompanied by Christian, for a three-day colloquium on "Terre Humaine," during which he will give a talk.
