Nanomaterials group reviews draft
Approximately 30 faculty members attending a meeting on Monday to follow up on the March 7 envisioning retreat focusing on nanomaterials heard the main points of a draft white paper outlining how UB can become excellent in the field. » Full Story

Dealing with pregnancy fears. Nursing faculty member Denise Côté-Arsenault is one of the few researchers to study the field of pregnancy after perinatal loss.
Five receive Plesur Awards. The undergraduate Student Association has recognized five faculty members for the quality of their teaching and their commitment to their students by awarding them Milton Plesur Excellence in Teaching Awards.
Glacial geologist joins faculty. Jason Briner, the newest member of the Department of Geology, will travel to the Arctic this summer to begin a three-year study of the vanishing plateau ice caps.
Taking physical therapy to a new level. Diane Wrisley is using her new lab to study balance and posturein particular, how the brain controls our ability to stay upright.
From the factory floor to the hospital floor. UB engineer Li Lin has borrowed principles from manufacturing to help hospitals improve operations and competitiveness.
National recognition. Work by the Small Built Works Studio has earned the School of Architecture and Planning a major award from the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards.
VP search under way. The search has begun to fill the new position of vice president for external affairs.
Faculty diversity discussed. The Faculty Senate Executive Committee was told yesterday that the diversity of the UB faculty remained nearly unchanged between 2002 and 2004.
Transportation as art. A UB student's master's thesis will turn a free transportation service into a work of art.
