Family Weekend offers chance to reconnect

UB students will have the chance to reconnect with their families this weekend during Family Weekend, being held tomorrow through Sunday on the North Campus.
The weekend's activities will offer families UB students the opportunity to experience life at the university during a series of events that will include a performance by comedian Sinbad, a jazz coffeehouse and after-hours party, a family brunch, pre-game party and UB Bulls football game.
The cost of Family Weekend is $20 per family, with certain events requiring additional fees.
The schedule of events:
Friday, Oct. 1
Women's volleyball match, 6 p.m., Alumni Arena.
An evening of comedy with Sinbad, 8 p.m., Mainstage, Center for the Arts. $26 per person. Tickets are limited.
Ice cream social, 9:30 p.m., Student Union Lobby.
Swing dance lessons, 9:30-11 p.m., Student Union Social Hall.
Buffalo Chips concert, 10 p.m., Student Union Theatre.
Jazz coffeehouse, 10 p.m. to midnight, 145 Student Union.
Saturday, Oct. 2
Family brunch, seatings at 10 a.m. and 11:30 p.m., Pistachio's in the Student Union, $12 per person, reservations required.
Conversation with President John B. Simpson, 1-2 p.m., Center for the Arts.
Campus tours, 2-4 p.m.: Center for Excellence for Document Analysis and Recognition (CEDAR), Suite 202, The Commons; Center for Computational Research (CCR), 9 Norton Hall; Multidisciplinary Center for Earthquake Engineering Research, Red Jacket Quad, Ellicott Complex; Hadley Village apartments.
Bingo and more; 2-4 p.m., Student Union.
UB Bulls football game and pre-game tent party. Party, 4-6 p.m., tent at south end of UB Stadium behind the bleachers; kickoff, UB Bulls vs. Central Florida Golden Knights, 6 p.m., UB Stadium. Tickets $15 per person with advanced registration, $7 for students.
Sunday, Oct. 3
15th annual Linday Yalem Safety Run, 9:30 a.m., Alumni Arena.
