Educational Technology Grants awarded

The Educational Technology Center has announced the winners of Educational Technology Grants under the latest round of funding for the program.
The grants, which also are supported by the University Libraries, are designed to encourage research and development activities that use technology innovations to enhance teaching and improve learning outcomes.
In each grant cycle, faculty proposals are peer-reviewed to identify projects that aim to fulfill university expectations of information technology fluency among faculty and students. Priority in this grant cyclethe eighth round of funding for the programwas given to proposals that focused on developing technologies that align with UB 2020 strategic strengths.
More than 100 faculty awards have been granted for leveraging educational technologies in curricular redesign since the grant program was created in 1999.
Those receiving grants, which ranged from $4,000-$10,000, in the latest round of funding and the titles of their projects are:

Diane Elze and Steven Sturman, Social Work: "Making It Real: Applying New Technologies to Engage Students in Social Welfare Policy and History."
Thomas Kalman, Chemistry: "3D Visualization of Drug-Target Interaction at the Molecular Level, Phase II."
Denise Krause, Maria Picone, Linda Dinger and Steven Sturman, Social Work: "Genograms: A Multidisciplinary Tool for Assessment and Treatment."
