Aramark to install new vending machines

Campus Dining and Shops (CDS) has announced that Aramark Corp. has won the vending contract with UB based on its response to a request for proposal (RFP) issued last winter and will continue as the university's vending contractor for the next five years.

As part of its contract, Aramark will replace all the coffee vending machines, snack machines, microwaves and many frozen food machines on both the North and South campuses, according to Mitch Green, executive director of Campus Dining and Shops.

In conjunction with CDS, Aramark will upgrade the card readers on both the new and existing machines, Green added.

As a result of these projects, there will be times when vending machines will be off line for extended periods. There also will be times when machines will be stored near existing vending areas awaiting either installation or disposal.

Green says he expects installation of the vending machines to be completed by the end of July and all machines to be on line by mid-August.
