Day of Caring set for Aug. 16

Members of the UB community are invited to participate in the 14th annual Day of Caring to be held on Aug. 16.

Day of Caring, Western New York's largest volunteer event, will begin with a rally at 7:45 a.m. in HSBC Arena and conclude with a lunchtime wrap-up at the arena.

Day of Caring mobilizes thousands of volunteers to complete hands-on, community-service projects in Erie and Niagara counties.

UB has been a longtime supporter of Day of Caring. UB faculty, staff and students will work on projects focusing on elementary schools. Among the task will be improving landscaping, preparing classrooms for the fall and beautifying surrounding neighborhoods.

For more information about Day of Caring or to register, visit http://www.vpsa.buffalo.edu/dayofcaring/docstart.asp. Volunteer space is limited; register no later than Aug. 4. All volunteers must register to ensure an accurate count.

For further information, contact Kenneth Lam, Day of Caring chair, at ubdayofcaring@vpsa.buffalo.edu.
