I'm currently working on a history of slaughterhouses in
19th-century Paris, Berlin and Chicago, and I have started a new project
on the environment and warfare in the 20th century. I'm also editing
two books on the history of animals that grew out of a conference I
organized in Cologne, Germany, this past May.
