Dan McKenna of the men's cross-country team earned first-team All-Mid-American Conference honors at the league championship meet. McKenna finished seventh in a 77-runner field in 24:51 for the 8K distance and led the first two miles of the race before falling back into the pack.
Anna-Lesa Calvert of the women's soccer team completed her career in goal with a shutout against Kent State, earning six saves and becoming the first goalkeeper in the 24-year history of the women's program to register 100 saves in consecutive seasons.

UB
rallied, but couldn't overcome a 20-0 halftime deficit and lost to Ohio,
34-20, in UB Stadium on Saturday. Led by Drew Willy, who passed for a
career-best 293 yards and a touchdown, and two scores by Steven King,
the Bulls were able to put 20 second-half points on the board, but it
wasn't enough to top the Bobcats.
UB (0-8, 0-5 MAC) rolled up a season-high 432 yards of total offense in the game. Willy was 24-of-36 for 293 yards and a touchdown. His favorite target was Chad Upshaw, who finished with eight catches for 116 yardsboth career highs.

UB split a pair of matches in Michigan over the weekend. The Bulls dropped a three-game match to the MAC West Division leader Eastern Michigan on Friday night in Ypsilanti. Game scores were 30-24, 30-24, 30-21.
It was a different story on Saturday, though, as the Bulls, led by five players in double digits in kills and four players with double-doubles, earned a road win at Central Michigan, 30-25, 30-24, 29-31, 30-23.
The win, UB's first road MAC win since a 3-0 victory at Marshall on Nov. 14, 2003, moved the Bulls to 10-16 overall and 2-10 in the conference.
The Bulls will return home for their final four matches of the regular season, beginning at 7 p.m. today in Alumni Arena against Toledo. The match will be broadcast live on WLVL 1340 AM.

WOMEN'S
UB 0, Kent State 0 (2OT)
Senior goalkeeper Anna-Lesa Calvert made six saves to become the first goalkeeper in the UB women's soccer team's 24-year history to reach 100 saves in consecutive seasons as she recorded her second straight shutout, helping the Bulls wrap up a 0-0 tie on Senior Day against Kent State in MAC action Friday night in UB Stadium.
Calvert finishes her career with 14 shutouts.
The game was the last in the careers of six UB seniorsCalvert, Natalia Crofut, Arielle Korczykowski, Erica Mincher, Pamela Schneck and Lindsay Szafranskiwho were honored in a ceremony before the game.

McKenna, Jezorski earn All-MAC honors at league championships
UB runners Dan McKenna and Jen Jezorski earned All-MAC honors at the league championship meet, held Saturday at Northern Illinois University.
McKenna, a junior, earned first-team All-MAC recognition with his seventh-place finish in the 8K men's race. McKenna, who led for the first two miles of the race, finished in 24:51. It was his fifth top-10 finish in six races this season.
Jezorski, a senior, garnered second-team All-MAC honors by placing 14th in the women's 5K race. She set a season-best mark with her 18:15 clocking, bettering her previous best for the distance by 10 seconds set at Toledo's Central Collegiate Meet on Sept. 17.
A total of 77 men and 104 women crossed the finish line on Saturday. The top seven finishers earned first-team honors, while the next seven were awarded second-team recognition.
The UB men finished seventh in the nine-team field with 137 points, while the UB women accumulated 212 points to place ninth among 12 teams.
The postseason will continue for the Bulls when they travel to Boston to compete in the NCAA Northeast Regionals on Nov. 12.

UB opened the 2005-06 season with a pair of MAC clashes in Alumni Arena Natatorium. The Bulls fell, 136-101, to Ball State on Friday and 144-95 to Miami (OH) on Saturday.
Against Ball State, the Bulls won six of the meet's 13 events, opening with a thrilling victory in the 400-yard medley relay. The UB foursome of Richard Shi, Leandro Souza, Kevin Schuster and Jeff Hurst rallied to overtake the Ball State team in the final 25 yards, edging out Ball State by a second.
On Saturday, UB won four of the meet's first five events and held an early 48-43 lead, but Miami took seven of the final eight races to claim the victory.
The Bulls will take an extended break before returning to the water at Akron's Summa Care Invitational on Dec. 2.
WOMEN'S

UB dropped dual meets to Ball State, 164-79, on Friday, and Miami (OH), 188-111, on Saturday. The Bulls are now 2-2 overall and 0-2 in the MAC.
UB had two double-winners to keep close with the Cardinals. Junior Frances Stephenson had a career day, claiming first-place honors in both the 200- and 500-yard freestyle events. She set UB season-bests and personal-bests in both races with times of 1:55.02 and 5:09.34, respectively.
Fellow junior Kahla Walkinshaw continued to smoke her competition, finishing first five seconds ahead of Ball State's Mary Brinkoetter with a time of 10:40.63 in the 1,000-yard freestyle. She also set a UB season-best in the 200-yard butterfly with 2:07.15.
On Saturday, Walkinshaw won the 200-yard butterfly in 2:06.39, while junior Danielle Gervais claimed first place in the 200-yard breaststroke, besting the rest of the field with a time of 2:26.47. Freshman Rachel Sorg won her the 200-yard backstroke in 2:10.16.
UB will return to action on Saturday when it hosts MAC foe Akron in the third of five straight home meets. The meet starts at 1 p.m. in Alumni Arena Natatorium.
Crew
Bulls claim three wins at Head of the Fish
UB entered 10 boats in the annual Head of the Fish Regatta on Saturday in Saratoga Springs and came away with eight top-five finishes, claiming three first-place and two second-place honors.
In the Bulls' first race of the day, the women's open four took second place with a final time of 13:52.98. The other two UB entries in the race placed sixth and 13th out of a field of 38.
The women's novice eight entries came away with first- and third-place showings in a field of 31. The first-place boat finished in a time of 12:50.05, 20 seconds better than second-place Syracuse and almost a minute ahead of the third-place UB boat with a time of 14.13.40.
The other two first-place boats were raced in the women's novice four, which edged Connecticut College by 10 seconds among 22 boats entered, and the women's open lightweight eight, which bested the University of Massachusetts boat by 39 seconds.
The Bulls now enter the winter training season. When the racing season begins in the spring, the they will compete in the Clemson Challenge, the San Diego Crew Classic and the Knecht Cup before entering head-to-head races against Colgate, Bucknell and Eastern Michigan.
Wrestling
Cerminara makes top 10 in two more national polls
After a redshirt year and a summer during which he placed fifth at the U.S. Nationalsthe highest finish for a collegiate wrestler at the eventsenior Kyle Cerminara has reached the top 10 in five national wrestling polls after earning a ranking of fifth at 197 pounds in the National Wrestling Coaches Association/Intermat/National Wrestling Media Association preseason poll and sixth in the WrestlingReport.com's preseason rankings.
The rankings of fifth and sixth are the highest of the preseason for Cerminara, who was ranked seventh in the Amateur Wrestling News preseason poll, eighth in the W.I.N. Magazine rankings and ninth in the initial TheWrestlingMall.com poll.
Cerminara is seeking UB's first national championship since Steve Klein won the Division III title in 1985-86 at 167 pounds.
He will return to the collegiate mats on Saturday when the Bulls travel to the Slippery Rock Open.
