Markus Dubber, professor of law, in an article in The New York Times on a homeless panhandler arrested on loitering charges who is contending in court that a state law banning begging violates his right to free speech. Dubber was commenting on a state judge's ruling in opposition to prior federal court decisions.

"The findings have important implications. But I wouldn't interpret these findings as a reason to begin drinking alcohol. The message is that a small amount is OK, and drinking to intoxication can be harmful."
Joan M. Dorn, associate professor of social and preventive medicine, in an article in The New York Times on UB research that shows that women who drink moderate amounts of alcohol may reduce their risk of nonfatal heart attack, provided that they do not become intoxicated.
