Travel services merged into single office

UB has consolidated its travel services into one office in order to better serve the university community.

The new Travel Services department, located in 208 Crofts Hall, has assumed responsibility for all requests—both State and Research—for travel reimbursements and advances.

The reorganization, administrators say, will allow for review of all travel procedures and policies at the university, with the goal of streamlining and implementing more Web-based processing.

The department also is responsible for implementing and administering the university's new VISA corporate travel card from Bank of America.

The department, which is part of Campus Services, reports to Judith Miller, assistant vice president for procurement and campus services. The department manager and travel card administrator is Heidi Retzer, who can be reached at hretzer@business.buffalo.edu, or at 645-5000, ext. 1349.

Travel vouchers and expense reports should be mailed to Travel Services, 208 Crofts Hall, North Campus.

For information regarding Travel Services, contact Retzer or click here, then go to "Travel" under the "Administrator" menu at the top of the page.

Free use of indoor track extended

The Employee Assistance Program and the Division of Athletics have teamed up to help UB employees exercise.

The indoor track in Alumni Arena is open to faculty and staff, without charge, from noon to 3 p.m. weekdays until Aug. 15. Employees had been allowed to use the indoor track and other arena facilities free of charge from noon to 1 p.m. weekdays. The extended hours only apply to use of the indoor track.

EAP and Athletics will review the agreement to determine if the extended free hours will continue for the fall and winter, says Kathleen Kielar EAP chair.

Anyone with questions or concerns should contact Kielar at kmkielar@buffalo.edu or at 645-5774.
