Because of their expertise and reputations, members of the UB faculty and staff are sought out by reporters who quote them in print, broadcast and online publications around the world. Here is a sampling of recent media coverage in which UB is mentioned prominently.

"It's too early to say that skin cells converted to (embryonic stem)-like cells is the way to go."

Manolis Tzanakakis, assistant professor of chemical and biological engineering, in an article in the Rochester Democrat & Chronicle on reprogramming human skin cells to act like embryonic stem cells. Go to the article.

"It's proven a good business model for Boeing in the short term. [But] if these risk-sharing partners took a financial hit on the 787, are they going to be willing to play the risk-sharing game again?"

David Pritchard, research associate in the Canada-U.S. Trade Center in the Department of Geography, in an article in the Chicago Tribune on delays in the first delivery of the world's fastest-selling airplane, the Boeing 787, because of problems with the global manufacturing network it put in place to make the plane. John Violanti, associate professor of social and preventive medicine, in an article distributed by UPI that reports UB researchers will conduct a study to determine whether post-traumatic stress disorder is associated with changes in the brain structure and function. Go to article.
