Because of their expertise and reputations, members of the UB faculty and staff are sought out by reporters who quote them in print, broadcast and online publications around the world. Here is a sampling of recent media coverage in which UB is mentioned prominently.

“It appears the kids who are heavily into drinking energy drinks are more likely to be the ones who are inclined toward taking risks.”

Kathleen E. Miller, research scientist at UB’s Research Institute on Addictions, in an article in The New York Times on a study about the link between consumption of high-energy drinks and “toxic jock identity” characterized by hypermasculinity and risk-taking behaviors. She also was featured in a segment of the “Today” show on the dangers of energy drinks.

Robin M. Lally, research assistant professor in the School of Nursing and a former breast cancer clinical nurse specialist, in an article in Health magazine that suggests that women weighing their breast cancer treatment options consult an oncology nurse for advice.
