Academic Title: Assistant Professor
Academic Degrees: B.Sc., honors, genetics, University of Western Ontario; M.S. and Ph.D., University of Toronto; postdoctoral fellowship, Cornell University

Teaching provides the opportunity to think about topics that are a little outside my research focus. Therefore, I think and read about things that I otherwise would not. This provides breadth to my perspective as a scientist and often stimulates new ideas. I also get really excited about what I work on and it's fun to convey that to students. With any luck, some of them will be as excited as I am!
